Vancouver Weddings 2010

This year we expect to have an extra  busy wedding season in Vancouver.  With the world spotlight on our city in February, and a rebounding economy, its going to be go, go, go.

Book everything well in advance, like now.  If you haven't already secured a venue, you may be hooped for the more popular spots.

Don't expect to get much done or response from vendors over the term of the Olympics.  Everyone from everywhere in Vancouver is being pulled from their regular jobs and commitments in preparation for the upcoming events.

Saturdays, of course, are the most popular days for weddings.  The wedding season officially starts over the Victoria Day weekend.  The Saturday falls on  May 22, while the official holiday is Monday May 24.  The weather can still be cool and damp, so if you are planning an outdoor event, make sure you have alternate plans, or rain gear.  But the weather could be beautiful, its really hard to say.

The remaining Saturdays that fall on holiday weekends are July 03, July 31, and Sept 04.  July 1, Canada Day, actually falls on a Thursday, not a traditional wedding day.  You may wish to try this date, as out of town guests will still be able to take advantage of travel over a long weekend.

The Labour Day weekend in September marks the end of the wedding season, so you may wish to book after this date if you are looking for deals, or more options.

If you need a musician, let me know.

Good luck and happy planning!
